Introduction

Online Changes
* Included a new 5-star ‘Matches Completed’ rating that aims to highlight the reliability of playing against yourself and that of your opponent.
* A connection quality indicator.
* Leaderboards now update during match progress, even if you do not complete your match.
* Changes to help reduce ball hovering in online games.
Single Player Changes
In addition to the online changes, some changes have been made to single player:
* The difficulty of normal mode batting is now harder than in Open Beta 1 (now half way between normal and hard in Open Beta 1).
* Fixed an issue with bowler’s stamina.
* Adjusted the power fall off curves for lofted shots.
What do I need to install Open Beta 2?
You’ll need to have the official Retail PC DVD. Importantly also, this is an update to Open Beta 1, so you’ll already need to have Open Beta 1 installed. If you have not already downloaded Open Beta 1, you can do so here.
Hey, what happened to my online account?
To avoid causing conflicts with v1.0 users during the beta process, we have switched to the development server for online. This will mean that you’ll need to create a new account, and that all progress made online will not contribute to your leaderboard in the final patch.
I purchased the game online via Steam / Gamesplanet, why can I not try the Beta?
We appreciate that as a legimate owner of the PC version of Ashes Cricket 2009, you’ll like to also be able to participate in Beta testing. Transmission Games is unable to provide Beta patches to Steam or Gamesplanet versions of the game, however, we’re working to make sure that you will be able to play the release patch. Also keep in mind that the vast majority of Ashes Cricket 2009 customers are console owners, who also are unable to participate in Beta testing. This said, everyone will ultimately benefit from the results of the Beta testing process.
When will the final patch be released?
We cannot say just yet, but it should appear during October. We aim to only make critical fixes to Open Beta 2 for the final patch, so you should consider Open Beta 2 near final.
